If you’re planning a trip to Los Angeles and love movies or TV shows, the Warner Bros Tour is probably already on your radar. As a fan of series like Friends, Gilmore Girls, and the Harry Potter films, I couldn’t wait to step inside the real sets and feel the behind-the-scenes energy. Visiting the Warner Bros Studio Tour was at the top of my LA bucket list. In this article, I’ll share what I expected, what I actually experienced, and whether the tour truly lived up to the hype.
In this post, I’ll share what I expected, what I actually saw, and whether I think this tour is worth it—especially if you’re planning a trip to LA and love the magic behind movies and shows.
Why the Warner Bros Tour Was on My LA Bucket List
I’ve always been fascinated by behind-the-scenes content. From DVD extras to YouTube videos about how scenes are made, I love knowing how things come together. On top of that, I’m a big fan of Warner Bros. productions—Friends, Gilmore Girls, The Big Bang Theory, Harry Potter, and the DC Universe are just a few of my favorites.
Naturally, walking through real sets and seeing where iconic scenes were filmed felt like a must-do experience. I didn’t expect to run into a celebrity or witness a live shoot. But just being on the same grounds where movie magic happens felt exciting enough.
How the Warner Bros Tour Works (and What You Should Know Before You Go)
The tour begins at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Welcome Center in Burbank, and everything is very well organized. We arrived a little early, which I recommend—there’s a small café and gift shop you can check out while you wait.
After a short wait, they assigned us to a group, and we met our guide (yes, the tour is in English). We hopped on a small tram that drove us through the studio lot. Along the way, the guide pointed out different buildings, explained their purpose, and answered all our questions.
The tour included several stops where we could get off, take photos, and walk through sets or exhibitions. There were around 4–5 main stops in total, and the entire experience lasted just under 2 hours. I purchased the tickets online through the official website for about $76 per person. I didn’t find any discounts at the time, but it’s worth checking in advance. They offer tours in other languages, like Spanish, but unfortunately, I didn’t see Portuguese as an option during my visit.
Warner Bros Tour: What I Expected vs. What I Actually Saw
Before going, I imagined we might see actual filming in progress, maybe even a closed set or soundstage in use. I also hoped for fully built sets, original props, and a glimpse of actors or crew.
While I didn’t see any live filming, I wasn’t disappointed. We visited some iconic street sets like Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls, a typical suburban neighborhood, and a New York-style block often used for urban scenes. We walked through a giant warehouse filled with original costumes, props, and behind-the-scenes info from DC movies and Harry Potter. There was also a special room featuring the Friends Central Perk set and another with a full The Big Bang Theory apartment replica.

Even though I didn’t see anything being filmed, walking through those famous sets was pure magic.
My Favorite Moments from the Warner Bros Tour
There were so many highlights! Sitting on the actual Friends couch at Central Perk was surreal—I couldn’t stop smiling. We also explored a replica of the Warner Bros. café, and took part in a fun green screen activity where we were inserted into movie scenes using special effects.

The DC and Harry Potter museum area was incredible. As a huge Wonder Woman fan for years, I was thrilled to see her costume up close—it looked amazing. We also tried the Sorting Hat, interacted with digital wand displays, and saw other superhero outfits. I loved the Batmobile collection and the real Iron Throne from House of the Dragon too.

And of course, the tour ended with a visit to the Warner Bros. gift shop—expect lots of tempting souvenirs!
What I Took With Me (and What I’d Recommend)
The tour includes both indoor and outdoor sections. I brought a small backpack with water, a snack, sunglasses, and sunscreen. I also made sure my phone was fully charged.
You’ll definitely want to take lots of photos and videos—trust me, there’s a lot to capture!
You don’t need to bring too much. It’s not like a theme park where you’ll be walking all day, but a light bag definitely helps keep things easy and enjoyable.
Was It Worth It?
Tickets cost around $76, which isn’t cheap—but I honestly think it was worth it. If you’re a fan of movies and TV shows, this is such a unique opportunity to feel close to the creative process. Click here to check availability and book your Warner Bros Tour tickets now.
The Warner Bros Tour feels completely different from the Universal Studios Tour. At Universal, the studio tour is much quicker and mostly outdoors. It focuses on older movie sets and includes two simulation attractions—one based on King Kong and another on Jurassic Park. While Universal leans more toward theme park thrills, the Warner Bros experience is all about storytelling, iconic sets, and the magic behind the scenes. It’s not about adrenaline—it’s about stepping into the world of your favorite films and shows.
Conclusion
I absolutely loved the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. It was fun, educational, and inspiring. I would definitely go again—maybe in a few years to see new additions. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves film and television or is curious about how their favorite scenes come to life.
It’s also a great activity to combine with other LA sightseeing in the same day—like Griffith Park, Hollywood, or Burbank’s cute downtown.
